  1. What is the signs application?
    1. What is the sign’s purpose?
    2. What is the problem to be solved or benefit to be gained?
    3. What specific message do you want to communicate?
    4. Who is the target audience?
    5. How would you describe them in demographic terms such as age, income, education, lifestyle, etc.?
    6. What is the viewing distance?
    7. What is the viewing time? Is the target audience lingering nearby or are they driving at high speeds?
    8. Is the sign intended to be temporary or permanent?
    9. Is the sign to be used indoors or outdoors?
    10. Where and how does the sign need to be mounted?
      By whom?
    11. Does the sign need to travel? Does it require special portability concerns?

    (External signs may have ordinances that vary depending on the city, township or village in which the sign will be placed. The guidelines include what size signs can be used and where they can be placed. Some signs require sign permits. These questions can be answered by the local city, township or village. Sign ordinances may or may not apply to the sign you are looking for.)

  2. What is the approximate size sign you need?

    Every sign we make is custom to your needs. Here are a few examples of suggested standard sizes.

    Parking sign- 18″ x 12″ (handicapped, no parking, etc.)
    Yard signs- 18″x24″, 24″x36″, 48″x48″, 48″x96″

    Banners- 2′x6′, 3′x6′, 3′x8′, 3′x10′, 4′x6′

    Custom signs can be made in to any size or shape, depending on each individual application.

  3. The next step is to layout the sign accordingly to its application.

    How many colors do you want, do you want your logo, do you want a custom design, etc.? Our design staff can assist you with this process.

  4. Place the order with a Sign-A-Rama sales associate.
    We’ll assist you through the process, answering any questions you may have.

  5. We create a “mock-up” drawing of the sign.
    We then contact you with the drawing via fax, email or in person.

  6. Changes and approval
    We require all sign layouts be approved by the customer before any sign production. We will make any necessary changes until you are satisfied.

  7. Sign Production
    Completion times vary depending on the project. It’s best to ask one of our Sign-A-Rama sales associates for an estimated completion time.

  8. We will contact you when the sign is complete and ready for pick-up.

    Some signs require installation; at this point we will schedule the install time that works best for you.

  9. We require a 50% deposit on all signs with the balance due upon completion.
